Painted Quartets exhibition supports National Star College
The ‘Painted Quartets’, a unique collection of art work, is now being exhibited for the very last time at the Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham, as part of this year’s Music Festival. Retired violins, violas and cellos have all been used to create unusual works of art which are being auctioned off principally in aid of the National Star College.
The silent auction is running throughout the festival and is a rare opportunity to purchase some exceptional and collectable pieces from artists such as PJ Crook, Mila Judge-Furstova, Gillian Lever, Lincoln Seligman, Ana Bianchi and local designer Cath Kidston.
Kate Green, Capital Appeal Director at the National Star College said, “We are delighted that money raised from the sales of the Painted Quartets will support the National Star College. It is really exciting to be part of such an unusual exhibition at such a renowned event as the Cheltenham Music Festival. On behalf of everyone at the College I would like to thank all of the artists and all of those people who are lucky enough to win pieces in the auction... The money raised will go towards transforming the National Star College, as part of our current development work, for future generations of students.”
You can now view the exhibition on Parabola Arts Centre performance days, throughout the duration of the festival (July 2 – 17). Viewing is possible 30 minutes before and after each concert starts and ends.
