National Star College Open Day... An Open Day with a difference
On Tuesday 30th March the National Star College will be hosting an open day with a difference. As well as promoting all of the courses on offer at the College and the services they provide, they will also be showcasing the innovative ways in which the College uses technology.
The College, which has been awarded Technology Exemplar Status, will be demonstrating things such as Wii gaming for physiotherapy, the use of eye gaze technology, mobile learning and much more.
Visitors will be able to find out about programmes and courses available at the National Star College including full and part time day and residential placements, adult learning, specialist programmes, such as the hugely popular LIFT (Learning Independence for Travel) and professional development courses for teaching and other staff. The day will be interactive with demonstrations and taster sessions of the courses taking place throughout the day. Visitors will also have the chance to meet current students and staff and gain a real insight into learning and living at the College.
The Open Day is aimed at a wide range of people including:
- Students with a disability aged 14 - 25
- Adults with a disability aged 19+
- Partner organisations
- Businesses
