Here at the Star College we’ve linked up with specialist agencies and individuals to make sure you get the support you need to go that extra mile.
Our partnerships with health services, education providers, and employers give you plenty of opportunities to experience new therapies, apply for courses, or to gain valuable hands-on work experience.
But we also work with other specialists to pursue ground-breaking ideas that make a difference to the lives of our students. These are just some:
- In partnership with Whizz Kidz, we developed an independent living programme, rolled out nationally by specialist tutors and disabled people.
- We teamed up with Doncaster College for Deaf People, Lufton College and Hereward College to create mobile learning resources as part of the Molenet project.
- Working with a local employer, we supported one of our students in setting up his own advocacy service, SPEAK
- And by linking with day care services and employers in Gloucestershire, we’ve built successful employment programmes.
The College is well-positioned to partner other organisations, businesses and voluntary providers – for instance, working with other colleges to train their teaching, care and support staff. We also provide specialist assessments for individuals and employers.
