We value people who bring a strong work ethic and dedication to the College. We look for people who reflect our own innovative and dynamic approach to everything we do.
And when we’ve found you, you’ll enjoy excellent benefits, plus the thrill of being part of an exciting new era at the College as we transform our buildings and facilities.
The Star College employs more than 600 people. The specialist nature of what we do means we recruit not just lecturers – but a whole host of support staff, carers and health professionals, here to help our students grow in independence and achieve their goals.
The College takes seriously its responsibility and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults and children, and expects all staff to share this.
The College is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and it is a requirement of the college that all staff apply for Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is essential that this disclosure and other background checks are satisfactory before employment can be confirmed.
These disclosures will be treated confidentially and sensitively. The College adheres to the DBS Code of Practice and our policies on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders and the Secure Storage, Handling, Use, Retention of Disclosures and Disclosure Information.
All applicants are required to complete our application form and provide a full employment history. References will be sought from posts held in the last 5 years (paid or voluntary) and any previous work with vulnerable adults or children including work in care or nursing homes, hospitals and educational settings.
