Joyland School, Kisumu, Kenya
The College has been working with Joyland Special Secondary School in Kisumu, Kenya since 1997 and has given opportunities for staff to teach in Kenya and for Kenyan teachers to visit and teach at the College through British Council funding. Joint curriculum projects have linked students through video and letter wriitng such as our current project on resource management. The college is also linked with Shishu Sarothi Centre for multiple disabilities in Guwahati in India with staff visiting the school in 2008.
Comenius
The College has been undertaking a British Council Comenius programme since 2007 with partner schools in Finland, Germany and the Netherlands. This has given opportunities for students to travel and work in schools through our partnership countries. Projects have included producing work and leisure guides and exploring diet and healthy eating.
Leonardo
The college is involved in a Leonardo programme with Gloucestershire County Council exploring social enterprise for people with learning difficulties and disabilities with partners in Spain, Germany, France, Turkey, Sweden, Italy and Solvakia. A programme of staff visits are planned in 2010 - 2011 to research innovative practice in establishing and sustaining social entrprise programmes.
