Our staff are very important to us and we strive to ensure that everyone realises their true potential and feels valued. We respect each member of staff as an individual, and provide employment that is challenging and rewarding.
We are committed to attracting, retaining and developing a diverse and skilled workforce, which reflects the diversity of the student group and the community we serve, enabling us to provide high quality, effective services.
Our culture is based on openness, working together and continually striving to improve. We all spend a great proportion of our life at work; therefore, it is crucial that the environment is one where we are all happy, energised and want to be. This allows us to direct our focus to why we are really here; to make a positive difference to the lives of our learners.
The college values the contribution that staff can make through the sharing of new ideas, best practice and quality improvement and this is encouraged in a number of ways including staff perception surveys; staff suggestion schemes and consultation events. In addition the college has a group of elected staff representatives who meet regularly with staff to listen to ideas comments and concerns, seek views, share information and the outcomes from group meetings.
Our philosophy is that by creating a great place to work, we provide our staff with an environment in which they can flourish and reach their full potential.
