LIFT West Berkshire is an award winning programme which provides free independent travel training for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties, as well as behavioural, emotional and social concerns. This enables them to develop skills and confidence to independently access education via a range of transport options.
Who is it for?
Lift West Berkshire offers independent travel training to young people with disabilities aged between 10- 19 years who wish to access education independently. The project is for students who are currently eligible for transport provided by West Berkshire Council.
What are the benefits?
The programme provides a number of benefits; these include increased independence, more self-confidence and self-esteem and an ability to keep safe when traveling and improved access to education.
