Programme Leader

Are you innovative, creative, forward-thinking, and have a passion to ensure all young people with disabilities get the education they deserve? This may be the opportunity for you to make a real difference. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative practitioner from a teaching or social care background with substantial experience of working with young people with disabilities and promoting learning. You will lead and manage a team of education facilitators and support professionals to develop and deliver programmes to inspire young people and engage them in learning and adult life.
In addition, you will be a dynamic and motivated leader and team member, able to model excellent practice and develop colleagues to do the same, as well as be a flexible problem solver in a busy and
demanding context. Moreover, you will be a good communicator who can build good relationships with both colleagues and external stakeholders.

Retail Development Manager (Charity)

£22,000 to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Retail Development Manager. Are you ambitious? Do you have experience of project management, retail management, shop acquisitions and openings? We are looking for a self-motivated individual to develop a new retail enterprise for National Star. If you are skilled at identifying new sites, and then leading on the fitting out, stocking and staffing of profitable retail or charity retail shops we would love to hear from you. However, our shops will be different. National Star is committed to developing social enterprises that provide work skills and employment opportunities for people with disabilities, as already seen in the award winning Star Bistro. We want to work with someone who can help replicate this model in our charity shops.

Community Fundraiser (Part Time)

Are you an exceptional communicator with a passion and drive for community fundraising? Then why not join our dynamic fundraising department to support and deliver a new and exciting community fundraising strategy.

Your role will be a key part of our community fundraising hub, you will deliver excellent donor care and stewardship to develop relationships with new and existing community groups, individuals and volunteers. You will be responsible for developing and driving forward our fundraising volunteer program and will line manage the Community Fundraising Officer.

Events Fundraiser

Then why not join our dynamic fundraising department to support and deliver an exciting portfolio of mass events.
As lead of our events fundraising hub, you will have the opportunity to shape our events portfolio, provide fundraising support to event participants and build long-term relationships with both volunteers and suppliers.

Personalised Learning Mentor (Temporary post)

£19,000 - £24,000 per annum – 37 hours per week Term time only

National Star is an “Outstanding” specialist residential college providing further education to young adults with complex physical and learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries.
We are looking for a Personalised Learning Mentor to work with a group of learners with a range of disabilities. You will be responsible for putting together learning programmes and liaising with key staff, external professionals and families, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising learner progress.
You will have experience of working with people with moderate learning difficulties, severe and multiple learning difficulties and /or Autistic Spectrum Disorder. You will hold a relevant level 3, 4 or 5 professional qualification. A teaching qualification or willing to work towards one, such as DTLLS , is desirable. You need to have excellent interpersonal skills; be proactive, creative and forward thinking; enjoy networking, planning, setting targets and delivering learning.

Waiter / Waitress Team Mentor

Cheltenham based within StarBistro at Wiggly Worm
Salary: £7.85 per hour | Hours Per Week: Based on a 40 hour week

Behavioural Support Practitioner

The college’s Psychology and Behavioural support team are seeking an experienced practitioner. The successful candidate will have experience of working directly with clients with mental health, emotional and behavioural support needs and be able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach to their practice.
