Working at the Star College – the benefits

As a employee at the Star College, you’ll benefit from:

  • A minimum of 20 days paid holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays which, after five complete academic years of service, increases to 25 days. Lecturing staff and managers have 30 days paid holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Use of the facilities at the college, which include a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness suite. You can also become members of the 9-hole golf course at a substantially reduced rate.
  • Tea and coffee. In addition, hot meals and sandwiches are available at cost price to staff at the main campus during term time.
  • A contributory pension scheme, available after three months’ service. Lecturing staff are eligible for the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

These include occupational health, plus a free 24-hour employee assistance telephone helpline which can help with personal, work, or financial issues. Also available are discounted health insurance and plans through BUPA.
