The college is a large employer, with over 600 staff. There is on-going commitment to improving facilities at the college to make it the best possible learning environment for our students and working environment for our staff.
We have a strong emphasis on training and development at the college, with all staff having a strong induction programme and follow up training. The whole college comes together in our September Training Week and plans for the forthcoming year are discussed, views sought and training delivered.
The college is an accredited NVQ Centre and offers an NVQ programme for staff working in the residential side of the college and for other organisations in the county.
The college offers a challenging and rewarding environment in which to work and holds a range of quality awards, such as Investors in People, Investors in Student Careers, Two Ticks and Beacon Award for Leadership.

The college is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and it is a requirement of the college that all staff apply for a Disclosure from the Criminal Referencing Bureau. It is essential that this disclosure and other background checks, such as employment references are satisfactory before employment can be confirmed.
